Biography

I am an Assistant Professor of Engineering Science and Ocean Engineering (ESOE) and Global Undergraduate Program in Semiconductors (GUPS) at National Taiwan University, with expertise in semiconductor fabrication, biosensing technologies, and microfluidic systems. From 2024 to 2025, I served as a consultant at InteliSpark, where I led commercialization strategies and R&D planning, supporting more than 50 startups in securing $3.2 million in non-dilutive funding. These projects covered a wide range of applications, including silicon photonics, semiconductor fabrication, biomedical diagnostics, cloud services, robotics, and wearable technologies.

I earned my Ph.D. from The Pennsylvania State University (2019–2024), where I developed molecular biosensors and single-cell platforms for rapid pathogen identification in bloodstream infections and Alzheimer’s disease models, in collaboration with Stanford University and GE Healthcare. I also worked with the Gates Foundation to develop high-throughput microfluidic platforms for drug screening. Earlier, during my master’s studies at National Taiwan University (2015–2017), I established an integrated digital microfluidic organ-on-chip platform.

My work has been published in Analytical Chemistry (IF: 6.8), Lab on a Chip (IF: 6.1), and Nature Reviews Bioengineering (IF: 37.6). I have served as a peer reviewer for Lab on a Chip, Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Antibiotics, and the Journal of the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening.

I am committed to fostering balanced, unbiased, and inclusive environments within educational programs and academic societies. I was born and raised in Taiwan and moved to the United States in 2019. Since then, I have lived in Pennsylvania, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Outside of work, I enjoy attending live concerts and have attended Lollapalooza for three consecutive years. While in Chicago, I’ve seen a wide range of artists perform live, including NewJeans ⊹ ࣪ ˖ ₍ᐢ. .ᐢ₎ ˖ ࣪ ⊹ , TWICE, IVE, BLΛƆKPIИK🖤💖, Billie Eilish 💚🖤, YOASOBI, Fujii Kaze, Clairo, RHCP✱🌶️, 1975, Oasis, and MCR. I am also a big basketball fan and I continue to follow anime and LoL esports ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ .
